All you need to know about the LG’s upcoming device, LG G6
LG is looking to make a statement with theLG G6 device whose rumors has been in the news and circulation among tech enthusiasts. The flagship device which is aimed at launching the tech company into the new year has been speculated to pack amazing features right from the design to the chipset under its hood.
The LG G6 idea comes after the smartphone company’s modular G5 device witnessed a setback in acceptability and review rating from tech enthusiasts around the world. The design of the G6 will according to LG be waterproof.
More recently, the LG G6 has been confirmed to be packing a 5.7-inch screen which sports an incredible 18:9 aspect ratio expected to serve up as high as 564ppi suggesting an ultra sharp display.
The LG G6 which will be the world’s first QHD screen with the integration of the 18:9 aspect ratio ditches the previous screen size of 5.3-inch as found in the previous version, the LG G5.
LG G6’s first 18:9 aspect ratio screen will, however, beat the likes of Xiaomi’s Mi Mix which sports a 17:9 screen. Note that the Xiaomi’s screen allows it to accommodate the Android software buttons thereby shortening it to 16:9.
LG’s screen implementation is however expected to build on the V10 and V20 second-screen featuring devices earlier launched although nothing about the G6’s sporting the second-screen application feature has been confirmed.
So far, the device which is expected to pioneer the new screen into the market is according to LG capable of handling multitasking function and also the dual-screen function. The revelation, however, hinted at some possible specs which will be featured on the next flagship device.
The screen which is much talked about will also feature LG’s in-Touch technology which was built and designed specifically to circumnavigate the usual touch cover glass and to increase the accuracy and responsiveness of finger touches.
It is worthy of note that LG’s in-Touch technology is as thin as 1mm which provides more space for other specs to be fitted under the hood and still come out ultra-slim as a final product. According to LG, the left and right bezels on the smartphone’s design will be reduced by 0.54mm while the tip portion will also witness a 0.2mm cut pointing to the possibility of a larger screen on the G6.
Other features of LG’s next flagship device includes an increased sunlight visibility a much as 10 percent and power consumption management which the new smartphone intends to increase by 30 percent.
The LG G6 according to speculations is expected to be launched at the MWC or a day after the show begins officially. Other sources claim that the smartphone will be officially launched one day before the official kick-off of the Mobile World Congress which is scheduled to hold in Barcelona. Etnews, however, claims that the general availability of the device in the market will not be until March 10.
Reporting on the structure of the smartphone, The Verge reported, “we expect to maximize user experience and customer value through the super high-quality display with its new 18:9 aspect ratio, which sets it apart from conventional displays for smartphones,” LG Display SVP and head of mobile development, Byeong-Koo Kim, said in a statement.
Other specs which are expected to be featured under the hood include the Snapdragon 835 Soc which is expected to run on 6GB of RAM. However, LG is yet to confirm if the flagship device will be sporting the said feature as it is rumored that the company may be making last minute changes to the smartphone to meet market demands.
Other sources of the smartphone’s release speculate that it might not be available for all just yet as LG may start its official rollout to Korea and then circulate the device at a later date. Analysts, however, maintain that LG is looking to gain rapid market share by releasing the LG G6 before Samsung officially rolls out its next flagship device, the Samsung Galaxy S8.
What we expect from the LG G6:
– A whopping 5.7-inch display equipped with the world’s first 18:9 aspect ratio.
– A Quad-HD Display
– Battery management up by 30 percent
– Thinner bezels on the sides and top
– Possible 6GB of RAM
– Possible Snapdragon 835 Soc
News on the pricing of the device has however not been let out by LG although tech reviewers and analysts suggest that based on the added features, it will sell at a lot higher price compared to the modular LG G5.
