Apple iOS 10.2.1 Update
Apple isn’t playing around much following the release of the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus as the tech company has rolled out updates to owners of the iPhone, iPad and iPod devices. The smartphone company which released series of beta versions for developers before releasing the stable version had earlier capitalized much on bug fixes rather than the much-expected performance updates and upgrades
However, the iOS 10.2.1 update comes with major security patches which puts it ahead of the previous updates and as an Apple device user, you should already have the new OS pushed to your device.
In case you don’t have the OS pushed to your device, downloading the update could be a little funny but here’s how to go about it.
For users of older versions of the iOS software, especially the iOS 8 users, downloading the important update is sure to bring with it substantial and significant improvements which includes the Apple Pay, SMS, and the Continuity feature.
The iOS 10.2.1 update, however, does not boast of major features added on although Apple worked itself up on the security front. The 10.2.1 update is guaranteed to fix several issues you may have been having on your device including the vulnerability which is expressed in the area of Kernel, Webkit and the contacts application. The vulnerability posed by the Webkit allows if probed, the Webkit to arbitrarily execute codes.
The OS update also comes with a fix for the buffer overflow bug which can be used to access the Home Screen of your Activation Locked Apple iPad device briefly. The OS update also comes with a bug fix for the Apple Watch’s Auto Unlock feature which is automatically triggered when the user unclasps the wearable from his or her wrist.
Major updates are expected to follow in line as the OS update did not quite meet up to expectations especially as the tech world was expecting more upgrades not only on the security front but regarding performance and productivity options. Apple, however, seems to have its hands busy at the moment as there have been rumors that it is working hard on not one but two major flagship devices for the year. Tech analysts projected that the Tech company might be looking to launch the much-rumored Apple X smartphone this year to mark its 10th year anniversary alongside the Apple iPhone 8 which has been rumored to be hitting the market by September according to Apple’s previous release patterns.
The Apple X smartphone, however, may not come bearing the ‘X’ tag as speculations surrounding the device holds that the smartphone company may be using the X as a placeholder for a better name. However, there have been rumors that the smartphone will most likely pack a 4.7-inch display as in the older versions of the Apple Smartphones predating the iPhone 6 device.
