Apple iPhone X
Much controversy has trailed the release of the Apple iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus as fans shifted their gaze from the smartphone which was announced at the tail end of 2016 with impressive features o what Apple has to offer next, the iPhone 8.
The iPhone 8 has therefore thrown the tech world into some panic as there have been rumors from several sources claiming what design should be expected and what not to expect on the next flagship device which has been projected to see itself into the market in the fourth quarter of the year.
However, with much panic caused by the iPhone 8 before its release and official announcement, Apple may be looking to stem the tide of things and keep fans calm by releasing the much rumored small sized smartphone which had been expected in the market last year but for some reasons was shelved for some other purposes.
One would expect Apple to launch the iPhone 7S to start the year off on a good note, but tech analysts have disclosed that the tech giant may be looking to celebrate the 10 years anniversary with the Apple iPhone X. Seeing as the X signifies 10 in Roman numeral, one can understand why Apple may be planning on going this way although analysts fear Apple may at the last minute change the smartphone’s name to something entirely different from what seems to be known at the present moment.
The Apple iPhone X, however, is said to be expected to hit the market with several upgrades, one who originally should be expected from the iPhone 7S and maybe more and it is projected to sport a 5.8-inch screen which will also be a wraparound screen.
Speaking on the possible projection into Apple’s plan for the year especially with the 10th year anniversary in mind, analyst Timothy Arcuri of Cowen and Company cited sources within Apple’s supply chain while revealing that the Apple iPhone X will have more than just a new name.
Along with the wraparound screen, the iPhone X will also be featuring a fingerprint sensor, an earpiece which means Apple may be looking to ditch the wireless pods and also a front facing camera all embedded in the 5.8-inch wraparound screen.
The rumors are however not remotely new although the name seems to have given a new light and fuel to what has been in the news for a while. Arcuri speaking on the smartphone claims that the iPhone X will sport a wireless charging technology along with an upgraded facial and gesture recognition integration which is expected to be powered by a laser sensor.
With Arcuri’s claim, iPhone may be looking at incorporating an iris scanner into the device which lends credibility to earlier talks leading tech enthusiasts to believe that the tech company is planning to delve into AR (augmented reality) features on its smartphones. Arcuri’s mention of an infrared sensor near the front facing camera which has been rumored to be integrated into the display gives more reason to believe Apple is planning something big on this.
Tech analysts have also noted that Apple may be looking to release the iPhone 7S into the market with the standard 4.7-inch screen and another 5.5-inch variant all to launch alongside the iPhone X.
There, however, is sad news in the rumor mill as some tech analyst suggest all three smartphones may not sport the OLED display but Arcuri noted that the smartphone manufacturer is looking to integrate the OLD display into all three of the expected smartphone if Samsung is willing to supply the huge bulk.
These rumors, especially the iPhone X should, however, be treated as what it is, a rumor which remains unconfirmed till Apple drops the ball on what to expect as the codename X may be a placeholder for Apple’s next remarkable device.
