Galaxy S8 – Sad News For Bixby Lovers In US
It has been said and reported about the flagship device from South Korean tech company, Samsung with more details centered on the promise of a smart AI assistant along with some other features which were taunted at the announcement of the device earlier in April, however, it looks like the entrance of the device will come with a bit of sad news.
Following reports that shipping of the device had begun to major pre-order customers and the possibility of an Active version of the Galaxy S8, the tech company has confirmed that the device will not be getting the much expected smart AI assistant which has been said to be more powerful than Apple’s Siri anytime soon.
The company’s representative shared the bad news recently following the sellout of the more premium 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage variant of the device. According to the information released by the tech company, the smart AI Assistant, Bixby, will not be coming into the U.S anytime soon as the statement released by the tech company pointed out that Bixby, including some other key features which had earlier been taunted, Vision, Home and Reminder will not be available until the global launch of the device on April 21. The tech company added that Bixby Voice would not be available in the US until later in Spring which means, tech enthusiasts have to keep breathing steady till the tech company deems the release fit.
However, the US isn’t getting the worst news regarding Bixby’s availability as Germany will not be getting this feature until later in the year, in the last quarter. This means, Bixby will be made available first in English and its home country’s language, Korean with more languages coming as the year runs by. Samsung revealed that it is working on making the voice assistant ready for Germany in the last quarter of the year although, for other countries and languages, Samsung failed to reveal its plans.
According to Samsung during the unveiling of the device which came to market with the promise of the smart AI Assistant, Bixby will help users perform various tasks and find nearby places including libraries, restaurants, hotels, and others. In line with this, the Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus variant comes to market with a dedicated button for the smart AI Assistant on the side panel for easy access to the virtual assistant with as little as a simple push of a button.
