Google Pixel 2
Following the rather disappointing news which has surfaced regarding the LG G6 smartphone in which its case render ha suggested that the smartphone may not as earlier projected sport the waterproof feature, Google’s Pixel 2 couldn’t have found a better time to make an appearance online.
Recall that previous snippet for the smartphone had indicated that it would be sporting a rather strong case ahead of its 2017 launch into the market. The smartphone ha also made a significant touch in that it ha been touted to be expected to feature the waterproof protection.
The Google Pixel XL which was released in 2016, although late in the year was according to Wired’s Kelly McClellean said to be a predecessor for two more smartphones which will hit the market soon.
Wired’s personnel further confirmed that a Google staff revealed that the two smartphones which will come after the Pixel XL would be waterproof fed adding that it should have hit the market but the development team was having a little bit o setback meeting the deadline.
Reports further indicate that the Pixel series from Google had been in the works for a while dated as far back as in 2015 when it was sent back again to the drawing board for the perfection of a few more features to be added on. Following the decision to send the Google Pixel concept back to the drawing board, the development team took another Nine months to start over on the project from the very foundation. It was revealed that most of the originally planned features of the smartphone before it went back to the drawing board were retained on the launched device while a handful of those features were dropped off, probably for later, due to constraint and principally time limitation.
The Google Pixel XL sadly suffered the fate of having its waterproof feature dropped off along with some other planned features which could not be met with given the time for its expected launch. Google is, however, making up for this as the tech company, according to 9To5Google’s Stephen Hall issued a tweet on January 26 indicating that he also had a chat with some people at Google who confirmed that the next range of smartphones would definitely feature the waterproof integration. According to him, his source confirmed that “waterproofing coming with next Pixel device.”
Google with the promise of two separate devices both packing the waterproof feature looks to be aiming high for the 2017 Pixel Market after it discontinued the Nexus line. However, what to expect from both smartphones regarding specs and design is yet unknown as the tech company is doing a good job of keeping the lid tightly on.
