Taiwanese OEM, HTC has a big surprise for its fans and this time, it’s not a discount price for any of its smartphones especially as it recently offered gift cards for the HTC U Ultra membership package.

The latest surprise from the stables of the tech company comes after it revealed that the premium variant of the HTC U Ultra. The Sapphire Glass edition will be coming into the market with none other but Sapphire itself.

Zack from JerryRigEverything tested the HTC U Ultra Deluxe Sapphire which was promised by the tech company and came into the market at a much expensive rate compared to the Gorilla Glass variant, and it gives an exact idea what the tech company loaded on the device for protection.

The testing of the device revealed that the tech company actually added on the Sapphire defense which means that on the screen protection level, Zack proved that the device does not scratch at a level 3 which confirms the genuinely of the sapphire glass loaded on the premium device.

It comes as a shock however that the promise of a Sapphire Glass variant was not just a marketing stunt by the tech company as the HTC U Ultra Deluxe Sapphire holds up to the sapphire scratch test.

It therefore means, you are getting value for the extra additional cost of purchasing the HTC U Ultra Deluxe Sapphire for $900 as against the Corning Gorilla Glass protected variant which comes to market at a much lower price.
