The Chinese OEM responsible for the Huawei Honor range of smartphones has true to its promise announced the official unveiling of the Android 7.0 Nougat OS to the Honor 8 smartphone.
The Honor 8 owners made a major turn around for the flagship device which received accolades when it was released. The OS update, however, comes with major improvement including the Huawei’s EMUI 5.0 which has been much rumored.
Now that the EMUI 5.0 interface has been released, a few of the speculated features expected from the UI was mounted on which further adds an edge to the already big device.
The EMUI 5.0 according to analysts comes at a time when the User interface of the device, more than ever needed an upgrade, and true to its form, the EMUI 5.0 is considered a delight to use as it features a clean and “lean” interface which makes it behave just like any other pure Android smartphone.
The EMUI 5.0 serves an excellent range of improvements over the EMUI 4.x skin which had been a source of constant complaints from users around the world, in a nutshell, the EMUI 4.x did not live up to the hype it had before release.
The EMUI 5.0, however, capitalizes on the flaws of the previous generation skin to bring with it a lot of optimization and performance improvements. The improvements and optimization according to its manufacturers should make the Honor 8 faster than ever before.
The design of the new interface according to the Chinese OEM was inspired by the Aegean Sea landscape with other added on improvements stated to include a more dynamic yet static and improved local security.
The Android 7.0 Nougat update which according to the tech company begins official rollout as from February 10, 2017also contains many tweaks and bugfixes. The performance improvement features include the option to rearrange settings list and also allows for prioritization of the camera modes. Added on is the functionality which allows a much easier way to share QR coded contacts.
The update which according to tech company will be pushed to all Honor 8 smartphones before the end of February also sports a new shortcut which allows users to switch between user profiles and customization options for the notifications and status bar.
Long with the update comes integration for the multi-window feature and Instant messaging, new emojis have been made available by Google.
If you haven’t received an update yet on your Honor 8 smartphone, you should head directly to the settings option then click on system update and check for the update to see if you’ve been sent the update package.
