iPhone 8 May Come With Redefined Fingerprint Sensor
Apple is working on big plans ahead of the launch of the iPhone 8 device which has been the talk in the tech world especially Apple lovers since the release of the iPhone 7 last year. The hype around the iPhone 8 is however made significantly greater because the tech company is celebrating its s10th anniversary this year and is thus expected to bring major upgrades to the flagship device to commemorate the achievement and milestone.
The iPhone 8 ahead of its release has since been rumored to be expected in the market packing a few major upgrades in terms of performance and specs as rumors have indicated that it might come into market later in the year, possibly in September with upgrades including new and improved fingerprint ID solution along with other groundbreaking technological advancement.
The latest report, however, indicated that Apple might have selected a new solute to the fingerprint ID crisis as it looks like the company will be going with its AuthenTec algorithm in combination with Privaris glass identification technology to provide the new fingerprint ID solution. It is, however, essential to note that these reports are yet unconfirmed and should be taken with a pinch of salt till the smartphone company endorses the claim or launches the device later in the year.
If the report is, however, anything to go by, it means that Apple decided against employing the services of Synaptics’ Natural ID touch fingerprint sensor and that of Qualcomm’s Sense ID fingerprint technology for the fingerprint ID solution expected to be mounted on the upcoming iPhone 8 device.
Recall that Apple’s original technology, the Touch ID technology came from AuthenTec, so it is quite understandable why the company will want to go with the company that Apple bought in 2012.
Other reports on the iPhone 8 also suggest that the tech company may look to start production as from September which to a whole extent may affect the expected release date which has been pegged at September by fans.
New reports, however, indicated that Apple device would come into market sporting biometric authentication which comes supporting earlier rumors that the iPhone 8 may come into market sporting an Iris scanner. Other expected specs on the iPhone 8 include Wireless charging and of course the much-rumored edge-to-edge OLED Display made by Samsung.
