- LG G6 Update: Smartphone may feature an Always-On Display
The LG G6 has been one of the most anticipated smartphones in 2017 basically because the smartphone has been hinted to be the world’s first 18:9 aspect ratio device and as such, the tech market can’t wait to lay its hands on the device for a full review of functionality and performance. The LG G6 has however been surrounded with a whole chunk of rumors and leaks which have suggested what to expect from the device and maybe more.
The device which was earlier scheduled to come packing the waterproof design was some weeks ago spotted with a waterproof casing which suggested that the idea of having a waterproof LG G6 might be far-fetched although te smartphone manufacturer did more to drop the modular design as found in the earlier version.
Coming days before the official launch at the Mobile World Congress 2017 after the tech company had issued yet another invitation to the press, the LG G6 has been said to be coming into the market with a few other features which were originally not available in previous leaks.
The LG G6 which will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2017 has been rumored n fresh leaks to be coming into the market with an Always On-Display. This feature was made known by Stephen Hall of 9to5Google who received two images of the device with one showing off the much-expected device’s silver body and the other showing off the display feature. However, the Always On-Display feature has not surfaced in any of the previous leaks leading to this point which indicates that LG might be planning more surprises at the launch of the smartphone.
The images received also indicates the time, date, and battery level on the lock screen while the background layer of the screen blacked out. The feature will however not be the first for the smartphone as Samsung and Motorola have in time past presented the audience with a feel of the Always On-Display.
The second image shows the device off in a silver color which indicates that the smartphone company may be looking at widening its color scope. On the specs category, the image confirms the LG G6 to be sporting a dual-lens rear camera and the much-anticipated fingerprint scanner which was mounted on the rear panel of the device.
Other specs expected from the device comes in line with earlier leaks and rumors which had been released prior to the official unveiling, the LG G6 according to specs sheet which accompanied the images will feature a 5.7-inch screen and running under the hood will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor which is fairly great although the market would have wanted a taste of the latest 835 SoC.
Along with the Snapdragon 821 processor which has been applauded for performance and battery use efficiency will be a 4GB of RAM and an internal storage memory of 32GB which can be further expanded via microSD card.
The device which is expected to come into the market running the Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box will be powered by a 3,200mAh battery.
