Moto G5 and G5 Plus
Motorola seems to be making a huge break this year as the smartphone company’s latest flagship device which has been much expected in the market has leaked ahead of the official release of the smartphone.
Motorola’s next smartphone, the fifth generation of the Moto G devices hit the internet and has put the widespread s[peculations as regards the design to be expected on the Moto G5 and the Moto G5 Plus to rest. The leak, however, did not end its detailed information there as it revealed what the device is packing under its hood along with the release dates which reveal a big deal in the tech world.
Motorola on the Moto G brand has continually churned out mid-range phones but with excellent performance and design which should be what fans expect on the fifth generation of the device.
Lenovo however in line with Motorola’s brand has continued in line with the high-grade utility and performance offered by the smartphone.
The first image leak of the next flagship device suggested little details as to what should be expected of the next flagship device from Motorola and Lenovo. The specs sheet noted that the device would sport a 5.5-inch screen with a Full HD display. Both models, The G5 and G5 Plus, however, get this screen size and the HD screen to go. In addition to information about the screen size, the smartphone according to the specs sheet will feature an octa-core CPU which although is speculated to be made by Qualcomm and of a new generation chipset was not revealed, the camera mounted on the device also suggest that the front panel houses a 5MP camera while the back camera is unknown. The leak also revealed based on the specs sheet that the smartphone will feature a turbo- charge integration for fast charging of the battery.
Following the earlier leak, a more detailed leak of the device specs revealed that the Moto G5 would pack a 13MP rear camera which is pretty impressive for the mid-range smartphone Although a camera cannot be measured only by the number of pixels. Other specs revealed in the new leak indicate that the Moto G5 Plus will under its hood provide a 32GB internal storage memory which lends credibility to earlier rumors which hold that Lenovo and Motorola may be planning on making variants of the smartphone based on the internal storage memory size.
The G5 Plus was also in the leak revealed to have the fingerprint scanner and a whopping 16MP rear-facing camera which beats the G5’s 13MP rear camera hands down. However, possible pricing of the device did not come with the leak.
Following the leak which revealed all there is to know about Lenovo and Motorola’s next smartphones, confirmation appeared online that both variants of the smartphone had been scheduled for release before the end of the first quarter in 2017. A more precise date, however, emerged later as it was revealed that the smartphone company might be planning a possible launch of the smartphones for March 8, 2017.
Based on the release date, speculations have surrounded the possible OS which will run on the smartphones as some tech analysts had predicted that Motorola might, in fact, run the Android 6.0 Marshmallow on the device. However, it doesn’t come as a surprise based on Motorola’s track record of rolling out updates in record time to its users.
Contrary to speculations, however, as of January 10, a new batch of leaked images of the smartphone leaked online showing a hands-on review of the Moto G5.The leak comes through an online marketplace in Romania where the smartphone is taunted with a label unit marked as XT1685. The images from the hands-on however suggest the smartphone be similar to the leaked 2017 version of the Moto X
It is however expected that the smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch display running on the Android 7.0 Nougat coupled with a fingerprint scanner and a rear-facing camera of 13MP. The front panel is expected to house a 5MP camera with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 CPU running under the hood. Additionally, the smartphone is supposed to pack 4GB of RAM and a 3,080mAh battery.
