Motorola Droid Ultra and Maxx
Both Droid Ultra and Maxx were released last August 20 2013 as the successor to the Droid Razr HD by Motorola. They were announced on July 23 2013 at a joint Motorola and Verizon Wireless press conference. At the same time they also announced that Motorola would become the exclusive manufacturer of Verizon’s Droid line.
The Similarities
The multi-touch Droid Ultra and Droid Maxx are both run on Android 4.2.2 and 4G LTE-capable smartphones. They are powered by the Motorola X8 Mobile Computing System (1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, an Adreno 320 GPU, a natural language processor and contextual

Their multimedia features are pretty much the same; both have music player, video playback, speakers and YouTube player. They both feature additional microphone/s for noise cancellation and video recording, Sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, and barometer) and hearing aid compatibility
(M4 and T4).
The Differences
The Droid Ultra identical to the Maxx is little bit smaller and lighter than the Droid Maxx. Ultra is 5.41 x 2.80 x 0.28 in dimension and 4.82 oz in weight, while the Maxx is 5.41 x 2.80 x 0.33 in and 5.89 oz.
The Ultra is marketed as the new thinnest smartphone ever, although it is weaker in battery capacity (Ultra – 2130mAh, Maxx 3500mAh) and no Qi Wireless charging which the Maxx has. The Ultra variant is available with either a glossy red or black Kevlar backing, the Maxx variant is only available with a matte
black Kevlar. Droid Ultra’s internal storage only has 16 GB of memory available, while Mass has 32 GB of internal storage.
If you were first in line when the devices were released last August, well, bad news for you, and good news to those who hasn’t bought them yet. Because Verizon just slashed the price of both phones by $100. As to why, Verizon hasn’t said anything, but it could be to compete with Apple’s iPhone 5S and 5C.
