Nokia Tablet 18.4-inch
As rightly predicted, the Nokia 6 which marks Nokia’s first run into the Android smartphone world wants just the smartphone company’s launch pad into regaining it lost glory in the tech market as the smartphone company has been revealed to be planning not one or two but a line f other Android-powered smartphones for the year.
Of all the Android powered smartphone leaks that have made its way online and has the name Nokia attached, the 18.4-inch beast Nokia is reportedly working on is the fanciest of all. This comes as a surprise because Nokia had in times past not been a fan of tablets and the beast which ha been taunted looks like the next big thing from the company.
Following the massive sale of the Nokia 6 which gathered for itself over two hundred nd fifty thousand registrations in 24 hours and sold out completely in one minute when released on Chinese e-commerce website JD.com with over one million registration, Nokia is set to release the massive tablet which tech analysts have predicted may be launched at the Mobile World Congress holding later in February. Recall that Nokia first unveiled its Nokia 6 smartphone at the CES 2017 with several people captivated about the specs added on including the 4GB of RAM which s quite high for a mid-range device.
However, to the specs packed on the tablet as we know, the 18.4-in display beast after surfacing on GFXBench is about to set itself on the top of the ladder beating other tablets with size if not on the specifications front. Nokia’s proposed tablet dwarfs the likes of the Ap0ple iPad Pro and other pre-existing tablets in the category by a long shot.
However, given the massive screen size option chosen by the smartphone company, there have been several questions raised by tech analysts and enthusiasts about the possibility of a stylus pen or not, what the possible USP will be and how well the device will fare in the market given not only the brand name but the size of the monstrosity. All these questions are however expected to be answered in coming leaks or otherwise at the projected unveiling in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress scheduled for February.
There have however been other speculations that the device which was spotted on the benchmarking website may just be nothing but a concept device Nokia is working on which means it may not see the light of the day. Other enthusiasts and analysts have however discarded the development/test/reference device idea and solidly backed that the device will make its way out of the smartphone company’s and into major events before the end of the first quarter in the year.
As spotted on the benchmarking website, the beastly tablet will sport on its 18.4-inch screen a display resolution of 2650 x 1440 pixel which taunts the display to be a QHD resolution. Along with the screen resolution which we know is the possibility that Nokia may be rolling out the device with an out of the box Android 7.0 Nougat OS which makes the tablet the first product from the smartphone company to run the OS out of the box.
Other specs include the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset which is expected to run under the hood. The chipset which is clocked at speed 2.2GHz is expected to be layered with an Adreno 540GPU for graphics and running on 4GB of RAM installed. The internal memory according to information made available on the benchmarking website reveals that the tablet will be packed with 64 GB of internal storage memory size along with connectivity options including the 4G LTE support. Other options include the Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and NFC connectivity.
On the camera front, Nokia is said to be planning a big one with a 12MP 4K video shooting camera on the front panel of the beastly tablet and an identical camera on the rear panel.
Other information including pricing and possible availability of the tablet remain unknown although analysts have expressed fears as regards Nokia’s possible plans to limit the device as it did in the case of the Nokia 6 to the Chinese market only.
