There have been several rumors regarding what to expect from OnePlus after it released the OnePlus 3 and the much latest OnePlus 3T into the market. The tech company which made a major debut about three years ago, however, looks to be tightening its grip on the market ahead of the release of the successor to the OnePlus 3T model of smartphone.
The tech company had been rumored to be planning a ditch of the OnePlus 4 name after it attributed the number 4 to bad luck according to the Chinese belief. However, the OnePlus 5 which is expected to hit the market pretty soon has been spotted online featuring some top of the range specs.
Oppo, the home company to the OnePlus, has seen a fair share of the market gain after OnePlus released the Colette edition of its OnePlus 3T for the Paris fashion store and further brought the Midnight black variant of the OnePlus 3T back into the market although in limited supply.
The OnePlus 5 according to recent spotting online will be carrying a model number A5000 according to recent spotting on China’s Radio Regulation Authority. The model number comes in sharp contrast to what was featured on the OnePlus 3 model with the 3T carrying a model number of A3010.
The listing on the Regulatory Authority however did not reveal much details regarding the upcoming device although earlier leaks had indicated that the device would come packing the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor under the hood along with some other tech advancement with the inclusion of a whopping 6GB of RAM or most likely, an 8GB of RAM variant of the device.
For graphics, the device is expected to come sporting the Adreno 540 graphics processing unit layered under the expected 5.5-inch QHD display resolution screen. For internal storage memory space, the OnePlus 5 is expected to most likely feature as much as 256GB on-board storage memory although this suggests the possibility of the device coming into the market in variants.
The variants according to tech analysts may most likely be in the form of a 6GB RAM and 64/128GB on board storage memory size along with another of 8GB RAM and a more premium and larger internal storage size of 128GB.
On the camera front, the OnePlus 5 is expected to improve on the OnePlus 3T and therefore come into the market sporting a 23MP rear snapper on the back panel and the front panel, a 16MP camera sensor for selfies and video calling.
The device which is expected to be powered by a 3,000 mAh battery is expected to come into the market running on the latest Android OS 7.0 Nougat along with OnePlus’ OxygenOS UI layered on top.
For pricing, tech enthusiasts, for now, peg the expected pricing to fall in the $500 range although no official word has been heard yet regarding the release date, pricing, and availability of the next flagship devices from the tech company. Indications in the media, however, points most significantly to June as the earliest possible unveiling date for the smartphone which has created much buzz online ahead of its release.
