Rumour Round-up Samsung Galaxy S8
- Samsung Galaxy S8: Rumors So Far
There has been much talk surrounding the release of Samsung’s latest flagship device, the Samsung Galaxy S8. However, from all indications, the smartphone which seems to be Samsung’s next shot at redemption after the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco will be packing impressive design and specs to make up for the loss the smartphone company incurred.
Ahead of Samsung’s release of the smartphone, there have been several rumors surrounding what to expect from the device including the mention of an 8GB RAM size which took the tech world by surprise. The launch of SK Hynix’s new 8GB RAM card has however put minds at rest of the possibility of Samsungs’ next device to spot the expected and much-rumored RAM.
Although a study conducted on Samsung’s customer base revealed that the company had not dropped much in terms of its consumer loyalty following the Note 7 fiasco, many tech enthusiasts are in the wait to know what Samsung has in plan for the Galaxy S8 which is expected to make the company huge cash for the next 12 months.
RUMOUR ROUNDUP:
On the rumor round-up of what is to be expected on the upcoming Galaxy S8, the much-expected device’s case design has been leaked to show it featuring an ‘Atomic’ shock resistant case design which taunts the phone in a new light and thus makes it more desirable. The case design leak, however, suggests that the smartphone will look impressively like the Samsung Galaxy S7 EDGE although a lot could not be deciphered from the leak, the visible portion, however, suggests that the smartphone would rock a metallic back panel which means Samsung will be looking to ditch the glass design. The case also suggests that rumors of Samsung’s plan to release multiple variants of the smartphone may be possible. The case leak indicates the possibility of Samsung fitting a dual-sensor camera on the device although the leak taunts a one camera variant of the expected device. The front part of the device in the leak also lends credibility to the possibility of Samsung mounting a fingerprint sensor on the front part of the device as it shows no button beneath the screen.
Following the case leak which lends credibility to some rumors already in circulation as to what to expect from the device, reports indicate that Samsung is looking to make the Edge screen a trademark for all its Galaxy S8 products. Rumors also suggest that Samsung is seeking to incorporate its voice assistant, Bixby into the next flagship smartphone which will rival Apple’s Siri and Google’s voice assistant. However, tech analysts have projected that Google and Apple pose no significant competition for the smartphone manufacturer as its main competition remains Amazon’s Alexa which it has to beat off the top position to claim the much sought after glory.
The possible release date of the smartphone has also become an issue for debate as most tech analyst expect that the device will be launched in February at the MWC but indications, however, exit that Samsung might be looking to test more on the device and has thus pushed back on the possible release date to April 2017. Not much has been said of the device by the Smartphone company which seems to be keeping the news on the device on the hush hush. Indications, however, exist that Samsung might be looking to unveil the device in New York. Pricing of the device is also expected to hit a higher note compared to the Samsung Galaxy S7’s market price. According to Goldman Sachs’ report, the use of OLED and the curved screen on the device will serve to drive the price higher than its predecessors.
Here’s What the Rumour Round-Up say about Possible specs
Is expected that smartphones are to be powered by a 4,200 mAh battery with the latest Android OS running on it out-of-the-box. Most importantly, Samsung is projected to run the updated version of the latest Android Nougat on the device which is supposed to sport a 30MP rear snapper and a 9MP front snapper. The Samsung S8 is rumored to flaunt a 5.2-inch 4K Display screen with a resolution of 4096 x 2160 running on 6GB of RAM although Samsung has hinted a possible 8GB of RAM with an internal storage memory of 64 and 128GB which can further be expanded using the microSD card.
