Why You Should Upgrade To Windows 10
Windows 10 comes packing a whole array of features which makes it one of the biggest if not the biggest operating system released in 2015. The OS has however over time successfully crept its way into most Windows-based devices and rubbed off the Windows 8.
Although Windows seem to have gotten its numbering wrong in skipping 9 and moving straight to 10, there are a few features packed on the OS which makes it one of the greatest I frank terms and might make you reconsider your stand against it.
Microsoft which looked to have had the Windows 10 idea all along was at the end of the Windows 8 launch taking bout unifying all its products and guess what? The Windows 10 came with the major feature as it brings the PC, Phone, and Xbox, along with all other in-betweeners to a perfect state of relatability. The Windows 10 platform brings with it the seamless integration of applications across all platforms with the sole idea of aiding the consumer base in running the same applications on their phones, tablet, PC, and consoles.
Speaking on the OS, Jitesh Ubrani, the senior research analyst with IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Device Trackers said: “The market has spoken as consumers and enterprises seek more productive form factors and operating systems – it’s the reason we see continued growth in detachable.” (n.d.). “At present, it’s difficult for Android to compete with iOS or Windows detachable products. However, the next 12 to 18 months will be very interesting as Google launches the next version of Android with better multi-tasking support and as they begin to bring together their two operating systems.” (n.d.). Here are some of the features:
Windows 10: The Start Menu
Microsoft on the Windows 10 OS revived the Start menu option which played a major role in the Windows 7 and earlier versions of the OS releases. The restoration is a big hurrah as frankly, it remains a stupid decision to remove the function from any of the OS releases by the company.
Windows 10: Cortana
The Windows 10 comes packing Microsoft’s digital AI assistant, Cortana. Recall that the AI assistant was only available on Windows Phone alone, but the information into the Windows 10 OS is a swoosh feeling. With the integration comes a new Cortana button which is set to sit chiefly next to the Start menu for proper and easy navigation by users. The AI assistant responds well to voice activated commands allowing users to ask her questions just as in the Windows pHones.
Windows 10: Universal Apps
Probably, this is one of the best features that came with the Windows 10 as the OS allows for users to run the same application on all their devices with little or no stress whatsoever. The OS comes with a major goal which is making one app that runs on the desktop, tablet, and smartphone. An example of such apps include the Microsoft Outlook and some photo apps featured on the OS.
Windows 10: Action Center
The action center has been integrated directly into both the PC and Windows Phone which results in the appearance of a pane over the disk as found in the MacOS Notification Center. The bar gives notifications from different apps and can serve as a quick link to locating applications running on the device.
Windows 10: Better Security
The Windows 10 comes packing better security features which place it on a more secure lane compared to the Windows 8 OS. The Secure boot requires that any code that runs on the OS and device is secure enough and signed by Microsoft or the hardware maker.
